#MsMcLauchlanWrites Episode 3: If I Built a School

Waaaaayyyyy back in January (doesn’t January feel like a lifetime ago?) I spent some time in a fantastic grade 3/4 class where we reflected on the value of play and education (to read more about that click here). That joy-filled exploration inspired me to design the third prompt in #MsMcLauchlanWrites series.  When asked, our students have some insightful and fascinating observations about the school system in terms of what works, and what doesn’t.  Furthermore, I suspect that those insights might be even sharper now that we’ve all been away from our classrooms for quite a few weeks.  With that in mind, prompt #3 is:  If you built your “dream” school, what would it look like?  What would it teach?  How would it reflect the way you like to learn? As an added extension, grab some graph paper and design out a blue print, or use some plain paper to sketch a classroom or other space in the school.

If you’d like to see the entire “write with me” video on this prompt, see below.
