Text Connections

One of my long time favourite metacognitive reading strategies has been text connections. Recently I took some time to revamp the resource I often use to introduce students to the idea of text connections. This gave me the opportunity to more clearly define what it means to have a text to self, text to text, or text to world connections. In addition to this, I have added “thinking stems” or sentence starters that could mirror what the various text connections might sound like. I’ve also used an expanded definition of a text to include texts that have been read, viewed or heard. Click the link below to see my slides!
