Looking to tryout the “Notice and Note” signposts in your classroom? Here’s a resource I’ve developed that pairs each of the Fiction signposts to mentor texts. I’ve purposely selected picture books and animated short videos as mentor texts because they provide an ideal opportunity to practice thinking aloud in the I do/We do portion of the Optimal Learning Model. In addition to my slide deck, I also suggest heading over to Pernille Ripp’s blog, as she has curated some great lists of picture books to explore the signposts.
